Obiora Awogu is a seasoned cybersecurity leader and strategist with extensive experience in building and managing robust security programs for enterprise-grade environments. He specializes in the design, implementation, and optimization of cybersecurity capabilities, focusing on threat prevention & detection, incident response, and security awareness.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science & mathematics, a Harvard University certification in Cybersecurity Risk Management, an Executive MBA specializing in blockchain, statistical analysis and business communication, and multiple industry-recognized certifications including CCISO, CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CISA, CDPO, CDPSE, and CEH, among others. He is also currently running an M.Sc program on Enterprise Cybersecurity, further solidifying his expertise in securing complex financial ecosystems.

As the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) of MoMo PSB (Fintech subsidiary of MTN), he architects and leads the organization’s comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, ensuring the security, compliance, and resilience of the fintech’s ecosystem.

Obiora is an emerging thought leader in cybersecurity, a passionate advocate for human-centric security approaches, and a dedicated mentor fostering the next generation of cybersecurity talent in Africa’s fintech space. He regularly contributes to industry discussions, leads security awareness initiatives, and actively participates in the Committee of Chief Information Security Officers of Nigeria Financial Institutions (CCISONFI). Driven by innovation and resilience, Obiora remains at the forefront of cybersecurity excellence in Africa’s evolving fintech ecosystem.
